Thursday
10:00 – Munchkin
For 3-6 players. Plays in 1-2 hours. From Steve Jackson Games, Munchkin is the mega-hit card game about dungeon adventure . . . with none of that stupid roleplaying stuff. You and your friends compete to kill monsters and grab magic items. Be sure to don the Horny Helmet and the Boots of Butt-Kicking. Wield the Staff of Napalm . . . or maybe the Chainsaw of Bloody Dismemberment. Start by slaughtering the Potted Plant and the Drooling Slime, and work your way up to the Plutonium Dragon . . and it’s illustrated by John Kovalic. Fast-playing and silly, Munchkin can reduce any roleplaying group to hysteria. And, while they’re laughing, you can steal their stuff.
1:00 – Near and Far
2-4 Players. Play time 90-120 minutes. In Near and Far, you and up to three friends explore many different maps in a search for the Last Ruin, recruiting adventurers, hunting for treasure, and competing to be the most storied traveler. You must collect food and equipment at town for long journeys to mysterious locales, making sure not to forget enough weapons to fight off bandits, living statues, and rusty robots! Sometimes in your travels you’ll run into something unique and one of your friends will read what happens to you from a book of stories, giving you a choice of how to react, creating a new and memorable tale each time you play.
6:00 – 7 Wonders

Friday
10:00 – Castellan
2 or 4 Players. Play time 45 minutes. In Castellan, two players work together to build a castle. Wall and tower pieces link together to form courtyards. When you finish a courtyard, you’ll claim it with a Keep. The more towers in your courtyard, the higher it scores. Your cards determine what pieces you get each turn . . . but you decide where to put them. If you’re clever, the pieces played by your opponent can end up scoring for you! Castellan includes 110 detailed castle pieces and 28 cards, and plays in less than an hour. In Castellan, two players work together to build a castle. Finely-detailed wall and tower pieces link together to form courtyards, and the player who finishes a courtyard claims it with a Keep, scoring
points for that courtyard equal to the number of tower pieces surrounding it. In more detail, each player starts the game with two decks of cards: a wall deck and a tower deck. Each card allows a player to play the components shown on it, with the wall deck cards always depicting at least one wall (and some combination of walls/towers) and the tower deck cards always depicting at least one tower (and again some combination of walls/towers). On a turn, a player can play as many cards as she wants, but she draws only one card at the end of her turn. The goal is to create courtyards – and subdivide existing courtyards – while keeping your opponent from doing the same. Players have the same cards in their decks, so the challenge is all about what to use when. The game ends when all the castle pieces are used up, and the player with the most points wins. Two different pairs of Keep colors are available in Castellan, so with two copies of the game – and the right combination of bits – up to four players can play.
1:00 – Revolution
3-6 Players. 60 minute play time. Welcome to Revolution! Secretly bid against your opponents to gain the support of the people, win territory . . . and gather more Gold, Blackmail, and Force for the next round of bidding! Will you try to control the tavern or the fortress? The harbor or the plantation? Knowing where to push for support – and where to back away and let your opponents fight – is the key to victory. It’s a game of bluff, counter-bluff, and surprise. Bidding tokens have different shapes and colors for easy identification. Colorful cardstock shields keep your bids private, and provide a handy rules reference during the auction. Traditional wooden blocks allow players to see, at a glance, who controls which territories.
1:00 – Dominion Tournament
This is a 3 round tournament starting at 1:00 on Friday. 2-4 Players. 30 minutes – 1 hour. You are a monarch, like your parents before you, a ruler of a small pleasant Kingdom of rivers and evergreens. Unlike your parents, however, you have hopes and dreams. You want a bigger and more pleasant Kingdom, with more rivers and a wider variety of trees. You want a Dominion. In all directions lie fiefs, freeholds, and feodums. All are small bits of land, controlled by Petty Lords and verging on Anarchy. You will bring civilization to these people, uniting them under your banner. But wait. It must be something in the air, several other monarchs have had the exact same idea. You must race to get as much of the unclaimed land as possible, fending them off along the way. To do this you will hire minions, construct buildings, spruce up your castle, and fill the coffers of your treasury. Your parents wouldn’t be proud, but your grandparents would be delighted.
7:00 – Near and Far
2-4 Players. Play time 90-120 minutes. In Near and Far, you and up to three friends explore many different maps in a search for the Last Ruin, recruiting adventurers, hunting for treasure, and competing to be the most storied traveler. 7:00 – Snake Oil
3-10 Players. Play time 20-30 minutes. Players put their charm, quick thinking, and persuasive personality to the test with the creative and hilarious Snake Oil game. One player is the “customer,” and the rest of the players are “salesmen” trying to convince the customer to purchase their product over the others. The products to sell are made by combining two of the Word cards, and players have to gear their sales pitch to the customer’s character. Selling a snow machine to a caveman would be quite different from selling one to a rock star! Lie, fib, and make up some ridiculous stories in order to collect the most Customer cards. After each player has been the customer once, the player with the most Customer cards wins! Original Game by Jeff Ochs and Patricia Hayes Kaufman.
