Academic Papers
LTUE welcomes 30- to 40-minute academic papers (meaning they include citations and bibliography) that focus on aspects of science fiction and fantasy. We are especially interested in papers in the following areas:
• Literary criticism/analysis of sf&f and related literature (mythology, medieval, renaissance, magic realism, graphic novels, etc.)
• Science and technology (especially new or unusual)
• Serious analysis of sf&f in cinema, television, radio, or other media
• Analysis of sf&f relating to poetry or theater
• Analysis of race, gender, or religion in sf&f
• Critical analysis of the narrative, aesthetic, and thematic elements of sf&f video games
• Latter-day Saint culture, literature, and society in relation to sf&f
Directions for Submission
Paper submission deadline is October 1.
Submit full papers for consideration to our mailing address or email electronic submissions as RTF files to marny_parkin(AT)byu.edu. Include a bio and an abstract of not more than fifty words each. Also include name, phone number, street address, and email address on a cover sheet; papers submitted without contact information will not be considered. Student papers welcome.

Proceedings Volumes
Proceedings volumes were published for LTUE XI (1993) through LTUE XVIII (2000). Proceedings include the academic papers presented and selected Guest of Honor addresses. Copies are available for $10 plus shipping. For contents listings, sales, or other inquiries, write to marny.parkin(AT)byu.edu.
