How Do I Pitch My Presentations or Become a Panelist?
The Call for panelists and the Call for presentations for LTUE 43 (2025) is now open on https://sessions.ltue.net/ (our symposium scheduling system). You should see the following screen on the home page:
Logging in and Updating Your Information
If you already have an account, login to https://sessions.ltue.net/. If you don’t have an account please create a new one. Please create or update your bio information. This helps us understand your expertise and interests and helps with our planning and decision making. Having an account on our registration server also facilitates our communications with you and automatically includes you on our mailing list when the call for panelists and presentations goes out.
Showing Your Interest In the Panels
Click the blue Call for panelist button and tell us which panels you would like to be on, or suggest/pitch your own presentations for LTUE. You can filter on Panels, then read through the options. If there are panels you want to be on, click the Add button and fill out the fields.
Pitching Presentations You Want to Give
If you have presentations you want to give during the symposium, click the yellow Call for presentations button, then fill out the required fields.
We strongly encourage you to pitch your own presentations. We are always looking for new and interesting topics. These presentations can be canned (ready to go) or you can pitch a new presentation idea.
Troubleshooting:
- If you have an existing account but can’t get in, try resetting your password.
Caveat: Please understand that filling out the Call does not guarantee selection as a panelist. We always get many more applicants each year than the number of hours we have for panels. If you aren’t selected for this year please try again.
Please join our Facebook group or ask to be added to our email list via our contact page to get the most up-to-date information.
When does the Call for Panelists and Presentations go out?
The Call goes out around the end of July each year and closes in August. We send out various social media notifications before the call opens, a specific email inviting you to answer the call (when the call opens), and additional notifications before closing the call.
What do I do if I made a mistake on the Call for Panelists?
We are working on fuctionality for you to be able to log back in and make changes as needed. If you pitch one of your own presentations and can’t change it, you can copy what you’ve entered, then delete the entry and then add it again. If you need to make changes and can’t, please contact Guest Services.
Should I have gotten notified about panels yet?
All participants who have been invited to LTUE should be notified by the time the schedule is up on the website. If you have not been notified, you can email the Symposium Committee.
Why didn’t I get chosen to be on panels?
As our community grows, we have an ever-increasing number of well-qualified people who want to be on programming. For 2020, for example, we had over 300 people apply to present at LTUE, about twice as many as what even our extensive programming has opportunity for. A person wanting to be on programming needs to respond to the call sent out before the deadline in August. If the committee does not hear from an author, artist, creator, etc., during this call, then that person does not get included in the list for consideration that year. With the call responses in hand, the track heads vet respondents’ qualifications for specific panels and make assignments with a balance of viewpoints. Not everyone who applies can be assigned, and there is no guarantee that if you were a panelist in a previous year that you will be assigned for the up-coming symposium.
