WRITING WITHOUT FEAR

Release Your Literary Kraken and Conquer Writer’s Block Forever.

Morning Class

Michael Todd Gallowglas explores the myth of writer’s block. While many things get in the way of writing: writer’s lazy, writer’s fear, writer’s I’ll never be good enough, writer’s binge-watching the latest release, writer’s significant other nagging about housework not getting done, etc. (Gallowglas himself admits to several years of writer’s World of Warcraft.) Each example is just a momentary distractions that keeps you from getting down and getting to work. In this Masterclass, Gallowglas will take you on a journey where the writing itself becomes your inspiration. Once you complete this workshop, you’ll be eager to get to your writing. Each student who takes this class can choose either Writing 365 or Inspiration 365 — books Gallowglas created specifically to help writers get down to the business of writing.

THE 3 STORY PROBLEM WRITER’S WORKSHOP

A Massive Paradigm Shift in Offering Critiques and Feedback

Afternoon Class
Have you ever left a workshop or writers group session feeling like you could have gotten more out of it? Ever feel overloaded by all the various forms of feedback to the point it left you a little discouraged? Ever grow weary of sitting silently while a group of people who missed the point of your vision eviscerates your story? Well then, Michael Todd Gallowglas is here to offer you a new way to look at critique groups and writers’ workshops. This masterclass isn’t just a new way to approach giving and receiving feedback. Gallowglas will not only offer students an entirely new paradigm for thinking about taking their first drafts to the next level, he will also lay the foundation for writers to grow beyond needing workshops, groups, and/or beta readers ever again. All participants in the masterclass may submit a complete short story of up to 10 pages, double-spaced, standard manuscript submission format for discussion. Students will also receive a copy of Gallowglas’s forthcoming book: The Three Story Problem.

UNLEASHING YOUR HIDDEN EXTROVERT FOR FUN AND PROFIT

Evening Class
In today’s oversaturation of virtual white noise, it’s not enough to write great books. Between maintaining an online presence, readings, speaking at conferences, running writing classes, and just talking to people out in the real world, writers must become part carnival barker, used-car dealer, and performance artist… all without coming off like any of the above. For decades, Michael Todd Gallowglas has excelled as a professional storyteller, ballroom dance instructor, game seller, open mic poet, speaker, and educator. He’s of that rare breed of writers who is also an extrovert. Really, he’s the kind of extrovert that makes other extroverts say, “Dude, slow down.” In this workshop, he will share decades of knowledge that you can use during panels, presentations, readings, and conversations with strangers to seem like a socially savvy extrovert and convert people into readers and fans.
